Story Evaluator tab
The story evaluator tab is where you control who you want to follow or ignore, based on the story that is presented.
There are three functions available on this tab:
1. Individually evaluate stories
Evaluate 40 stories - individually evaluate the story.
This will pop up a new overlay - which will allow you to individually evaluate a story - see the next section.
2. Clear stories
Clear remaining 40 stories - remove all of the remaining stories - NOTE: If you choose this option and then refresh the stories for the topics, then you may receive these stories again.
3. Refresh stories
Refresh stories for 4 topics - refresh stories for your selected topics.
Settings that affect this functioning of this tab:
- Refresh recommended stories - whether you wish to view stories from stories that are recommended by Medium.com - default set to
off - Ignore stories older than: - If a story is found that was published after this time, then it will not be set to evaluation - default is set to
No limit
Available options are: 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, or No limit - Minimum number of Author followers required to evaluate stories: - Professional version only - The minimum number of followers that an Author must have in order to evaluate the story - default is set to
0
Available options are: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, No limit - Maxiumum number of stories to find per topic: - Professional version only - The maximum number of stories that will be retrieved per topic - default is set to
10
Available options are: 10, 20, 20, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, or 100
Story Evaluator Individual
The story evaluator individual is where you may evalaute each story in turn (and its Author).
The screen will display the following information about the story:
a. The number of stories left to evaluate
b. The topic where this story was found
c. The image for the story (if one exists)
d. The title of the story
e. The precis of the story
f. When the story was found
g. The Author of the story including followers and followings
h. If the Author of the story is following you back (Professional version only)
This overview will allow you to quickly decide whether you wish to read the story, follow the Author, or ignore all stories from the Author.
There are four functions available on this tab:
1. View the Story page
View Story page - this will open up a new browser window where you can evaluate the story and the author. (NOTE: please ensure that you are logged into your Medium.com account)
On the new browser page, you may:
- Read the story
- Follow the Author
- Clap for the story
- Comment on the story
Once you have this point, the I have followed this Author button will become available
2. Following an Author
Depending on whether this story suits your preferences,, you may wish to follow the Author.
NOTE: This button will only be enabled after you have clicked on the 'View Story page' button.
I have followed this Author - this will set the Author to be TO BE EVALUATED and will place the Author in the evaluation queue. The Author can be evaluated at a later point through the 'Author Evaluator' tab.
3. Ignore an Author
Ignore Author - Ignore this Author and any further stories - this will set the Author to be IGNORED and the Author's stories will never appear in your Maxiumiser Desktop feed again.
4. Finish the individual story evaluation
Done - Finish with the story evaluation - NOTE: this will leave the story as is, so that you may evaluate the story at a later date.
